Although the 2020 Shoe Box appeal did not go ahead as normal in November, the Braco ladies still did a good deal of knitting which was taken to Crieff to the Blythswood charity shop, which made its way, along with many more articles, despite Covid 19 regulations, to very needy children in Hungry. We know this was gratefully received. Knitting of any kind is still very much needed. A useful garment is a snood.
The pattern is cast on 35 stitches, no. 9 needles, double knitting wool, knit 15 inches for youth size and 17 inches for adult size. Sew the ends together. Use any stitch you like, garter, moss, ribs or just make up what suits you. This is good for using up wool of many colours.
Squares are useful too, which can be put together for blankets.
Knitting is a great lockdown pastime for the remaining winter months.
There is no sign of the Crieff shop opening in the near future and the knitting will not go away until September/October, which gives us plenty time.
