Thought For The Week
Thought for the week.
Our relationship with time has changed during the pandemic, with time seeming to have passed quickly. It has shown us that we can’t depend on time, so we must make the most of the time we have available. We, ourselves often use the everyday phrase “Life’s Too Short.” We all have things we worry about which, at heart, only matter to us, whether it’s a pre-occupation with the way we look or chasing popularity. WE often strive for perfectionism in all areas. Instead of perfectionism, make the most of what you like about yourself and what you are good at.
Time is precious
It keeps moving.
It makes no promises
It doesn’t wait
So do all those things with the ones you love
Before it runs out and you are left to regret
All the things you meant to do.
Best wishes, Charles Robertson
Prayers of thanksgiving and intercession including thanks for the life of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh are included under the Worship Section.
240 years ago on 25th March, 1781, the Chapel of Ease, now known as Ardoch Parish Church was opened for public worship by the Rev David Simpson.
Our photograph is the oldest one we own and shows the church with full length windows. In 1862 the galleries on the north and south sides were removed and some of the windows on the south side were built up. The pulpit instead of being in the centre of the church was placed at the east end. Later an entrance vestibule and choir chancel were added.
The service this coming Sunday is a celebration of the 240th anniversary of Ardoch Parish opening for public worship.
The Right Rev Dr Martin Fair, the Moderator of the Church of Scotland will be visiting and conducting the service and it will be streamed live.
It is very disappointing but due to covid 19 social distancing rules the numbers able to attend will be limited to approximately 40. However, live streaming of the service will begin at 11.00am and the link will be on our website.
You are warmly welcomed to the pre-recorded joint Sunday Service led by our minister Rev Mairi Perkins.
Her sermon is ( You are witnesses) Laura Peacock leads us in prayer. Bob Aitken reads from Luke 24:V36-49.
This is the twelfth and final episode of Little Pilgrim’s Progress.

Pamela Penman finished her EDITH’S HOPE LENT DIET CHALLENGE on Good Friday. This has been an extremely challenging diet for her (beans and rice for 40 days)
She is immensely grateful to all the sponsors here in Ardoch Church, her church in Cardiff and family and friends.
The total raised so far is £2,300. This fantastic amount along with the other UK sponsors will bring in enough to build the medical centre at EDITH’S HOPE and employ staff to run it
Pamela says a big thank you to you all.
We look forward to following the progress of the Medical Centre and wish them every success.
